Before Glen Powell became one of Hollywood’s most coveted leading men with movies like Anyone But You, Hit Man, and Twisters, the actor starred in the sweet 2018 movie The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. In it, Powell played Lily James‘ love interest Mark before they broke up and she decided to travel to Guernsey Island.
Now, years after they co-starred in the movie, Powell and James are in the middle of some major dating rumors.
The rumors started swirling after they were spotted leaving the Charles Finch & Chanel BAFTA Party party on Feb. 15 in London. In the pictures obtained by Daily Mail, the two are seen smiling and laughing in the car after leaving the private members club Loulou’s.
In addition to looking so giddy next to each other, sources reported that Powell gave James his grey suit jacket as she walked to the car. In the photos, she’s then seen wearing the blazer over her black Chanel two-piece set. Talk about a gentlemanly move!
As speculation continues to grow on their relationship status, fans of the actors, and their 2018 movie, are taking to social media. “Big day for fans of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society,” wrote one user on X. “OMGGGG NO WAY!!!!” wrote another. “I loved that movie so much!”
If you’re hearing the news about their car ride together and asking yourself if they’re even single, rest assured. From the looks of it, both James and Powell are currently single.
James, who’s been previously linked to actor Dominic West and Matt Smith, was last spotted having dinner in London with American billionaire Brian Chesky, the chief executive of Airbnb, but they haven’t been seen together since, per Daily Mail.
Powell, on the other hand, was last linked to his longtime girlfriend Gigi Paris. The two dated for over three years and broke up in April 2023.
In June 2024, Powell opened up about single life to CBS Mornings. “This is a time where life is moving so fast that I don’t even know if I could bring someone into it … in a healthy way, even if I tried,” the Top Gun: Maverick star explained.
“If love comes and hits me in the face and knocks me over, I welcome it with open arms because that’s something I really want,” Powell said. “At the same time, I realize [that] it’s going to take a very specific type of person to navigate this [lifestyle]. It’s a lot.”
So while there’s still no confirmation that there’s anything romantic between Powell and James, we’re thinking that connecting with someone who’s also in the industry might be exactly what he needs. Could this be the love he’s been looking for? The Guernsey fans surely hope so!
