Leighton Meester Is Joining Nobody Wants This Season 2 & Her Character Is Bringing All the Drama

Leighton Meester is starring in season two of Nobody Wants This and it looks like her character is about to stir up some trouble in her real-life husband Adam Brody‘s storyline.

Variety revealed on Feb. 20 that Meester, alongside Bottoms actor Miles Fowler, are joining season two of the hit Netflix comedy as guest stars which means Meester is merging home life and work life by joining her husband of 10 years on screen.

The show, which earned Brody a Critics Choice Award earlier this month, also stars Kristen Bell, Justine Lupe, Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Jackie Tohn, Sherry Cola, and Shiloh Berman.

Meester’s character in Nobody Wants This season two is named Abby and is described as “Joanne’s (Bell) middle school nemesis who is now an Instagram mommy influencer.”

So, it seems like Meester’s character is about to have one hell of a rivalry with Brody’s onscreen love interest, Joanne. Brody plays Noah, aka the “Hot Rabbi” in the show.

In season one, Joanne and Noah navigated differing stances on religion, life and some meddling family members to find their happy ending in the season finale. But with so many loose ends left untied, particularly as it relates to the previously-mentioned meddling family members, season two looks set to bring plenty of hilarious drama.

There’s no word yet on what, if any, crossover Meester and Brody will have on the show. But, this isn’t the first time the couple have worked together on screen. The pair starred in 2011 rom-com The Oranges, 2014’s Life Partners and appeared together in 2023 thriller River Wild.

Nobody Wants This season two is set to begin filming in March and Brody told SheKnows earlier this month that he couldn’t be more excited to be “working with all my pals again.” He added, “As far as the story goes, I’m not sure. I’m just waiting to be surprised… I would hope that there is more laughter and heartache.”

In addition to Meester’s new role, Fowler will join as guest star Lenny, who is a new love interest for Joanne’s sister. He is said to be “Noah’s (Brody) Matzah Ballers teammate who gets set up with Morgan (Justine Lupe).”
