Christina Haack Revealed the Financial ‘Repercussions’ of Her Marriage to Josh Hall

Fans are watching the end of Christina Haack‘s marriage to Josh Hall play out on the inaugural season of The Flip Off — and it’s a lesson in divorce finances. He was supposed to be the HGTV personality’s teammate on the home renovation show, instead, viewers watched their contentious split play out while cameras were filming.

In the Feb. 26 episode of the reality competition show, Haack spilled some tea about her divorce from Hall with her friend Cassie. As they chatted in the garage of her Newport Beach, Calif. home, Cassie asked about the collection of ATVs and quad bikes cluttering up the space.

“Tennessee, sweetie,” Haack said with a mischievous smile.

The former duo battled over Haack’s Leiper’s Fork home and whether she was allowed to sell the estate for $4.5 million. Hall claimed that he should have been consulted on the pending sale because “the community maintains an appreciation interest due to the pay down of the mortgage during the marriage,” over documents obtained by the Daily Mail in October 2024. Haack has since been ordered to give her estranged husband $150,000 upon the sale of the property.

While rehashing the details with Cassie in the most recent episode, Haack shared some financial insight about her ex. “It’s crazy. He wants to retire off me,” she alleged. “Honestly, if I would’ve really understood the repercussions of all of this, I would’ve gotten a prenup or I would’ve never married him.”

Haack got serious about her split from Hall in November 2024 when she hired Hollywood’s legendary divorce attorney Laura Wasser to expedite the process. Wasser told SheKnows in February 2024 that she’s an expert at navigating the complexities of a separation and she likes to guide her clients to a better stage of their lives. “I’m coming up on 30 years doing this,” Wasser explained. “It has changed… the way people approach divorce is a little bit less taboo. [There’s] a little bit less of, ‘Oh, I’ve had a failed marriage.’ It’s more about, ‘No, this is my next chapter and I’m moving on.’”

Even with Wasser on her side, Haack admitted on the Jan. 9 episode of Radio Andy’s Jeff Lewis Live that she and Hall were “going to trial” I hear.” Her ex-husband is reportedly reluctant to negotiate a settlement. “It’s going to be fun,” she added sarcastically. “Can’t wait.”

It’s a financial lesson learned for Haack — a prenuptial agreement would have allowed her to avoid this painful divorce pitfall.
