Blake Shelton might be lamenting the loss of his People magazine sexiest man alive title to Idris Elba, but at least one person seems to be a bigger fan of Shelton even without the honor: his girlfriend, singer Gwen Stefani.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday, Stefani revealed she finds Shelton more irresistible to her than ever — but especially since spending a full year as sexiest man alive. “Honestly, he got sexier,” she told DeGeneres, who used the moment to springboard into more risqué territory.

“When the title came upon him, did you notice that he became better in bed?” the host not-so-subtly inquired.
“Oh, my God. I feel like she [DeGeneres] needs to try and take it to the next level every time I come with Blake,” Stefani blurted before realizing the accidental innuendo in her comment. “Oh, my God! I can’t believe I just said that. That was so crazy.”
Feigning innocence, DeGeneres joked, “What? It’s a yes or no answer.” Not surprisingly, Stefani — always good-natured about DeGeneres’ prying — gently shut down that line of inquiry with a succinct, “Next question.”
Of course, DeGeneres wasn’t going to let Stefani off the hook that easily. Among her next questions? Why Stefani doesn’t just pop the question to her country hunk.

“So, Blake told me that you all are engaged now,” DeGeneres started before Stefani interjected, “No, he didn’t! No we’re not! What are you talking about? We’re not! We’re not engaged and we’re not married. And he’s my boyfriend. Still.”
Always one with a comeback, DeGeneres quipped, “Why don’t you ask him to marry you instead of waiting for him? Why don’t you just go ahead and ask him?”
And, really, you can’t blame DeGeneres for trying. Stefani and Shelton are clearly smitten with each other, which was readily apparent last year when Stefani defended Shelton being picked by People as its sexiest person.

“For me, it’s just that big ol’ heart and that sense of humor,” Stefani told DeGeneres in December 2017 of what she finds so attractive about her beau. “He doesn’t even take himself seriously, and he’s just such an incredible person. And that’s sexy to me.”
In fact, it was Stefani who encouraged Shelton to accept the title.
“I feel totally responsible because he’s not that person. He doesn’t even like to do a photo shoot. You can never convince him to do it. So he just called me like, ‘They want me to do this.’ And I was like, ‘You should totally do it! You’re so sexy!’” Stefani revealed.

Just last month, Shelton popped by to see DeGeneres and discuss how he was adjusting to life post-sexiest man alive. “I feel like sexy ends when I’m not sexiest man alive anymore,” Shelton told the talk show host. “I feel like it doesn’t exist anymore. I feel like it’s over.”
Aw, buck up, Shelton! We’re pretty sure your sexiness status with Stefani isn’t in jeopardy of going anywhere anytime soon.
