Eddie Murphy is definitely not a first-time father, but on Nov. 30, the comedian became a father once again, bringing the number of his brood up to a jaw-dropping 10 kids. Murphy first became a dad 29 years ago, when then-girlfriend Paulette McNeely gave birth to their son, Eric Murphy. Now, almost 30 years later, Murphy has welcomed his newest child into the world, this time with fiancée Paige Butcher.

According to E! News, Murphy’s fiancée, Paige Butcher, gave birth to Max Charles on Friday, and the youngest Murphy weighed in at 6 lbs. 11 oz. and measured 19 inches long. Per a rep for Murphy who spoke with E!, everyone is doing good, and “both mother and son are doing well.”
This isn’t the couple’s first child together; they welcomed a daughter, Izzy Oona, in 2016. As previously mentioned, this means Murphy is now a seasoned parent, having eight children from previous relationships including Eric, 29; Christian, 27, who he had with ex-girlfriend Tamara Hood; five children with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell Murphy — Bria, 28, Miles Mitchell, 25, Shayne Audra, 23, Zola Ivy, 18, and Bella Zahra, 16; and one child, Angel, with former Spice Girl, Melanie Brown.

That said, while it appears Murphy loves fatherhood, there is one thing he won’t do: change diapers. In a 2016 interview with Extra, the actor infamously said “I don’t change diapers … ’cause I would be horrible at it, and that’s not fair to the child.” Okay, so Murphy may not win a diaper-changing award any time soon, but maybe, in exchange, he can pass along some of his comedic timing to baby Max? Well, we can only hope.

Neither Murphy nor Butcher have issued a statement about Max’s birth or their growing family at this time, but we reckon that’s because this couple has their hands full with Max, so we’ll give ’em a pass this time around.
