2018 has been a wild ride in every conceivable way, but one thing is for sure: We’ve gotten a lot of quality celebrity content, especially on social media. Tweets aside, we’re focusing our attention on a platform that’s all about visuals: Instagram. Some of our favorite celebrities signed up for Instagram accounts this year and immediately made super-iconic posts about everything from their work to their kids. With followers in the hundreds of thousands (or millions), these celebrities are truly cultivating Instagram feeds that are all their own.

Julia Roberts created her Instagram account in June, and although she’s shared nearly 100 photos and videos in the six months since, her first post remains her most iconic. Roberts greeted fans and followers with a smiling photo of herself and a simple caption for her first post: “Hello.” It’s gained nearly 376,000 likes since.
Demi Moore

Demi Moore has shared about a dozen posts since she joined Instagram in October, turning several of them toward a good cause: encouraging her U.S. fans and followers to vote in the midterm elections. Her most-viewed and most-liked post is her first one, which is a video she recorded for her daughter about the Stella McCartney dress she wore to Princess Eugenie‘s wedding.

A week before Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse hit theaters, Jake Gyllenhaal unexpectedly joined Instagram to confirm a casting rumor: He is in Spider-Man: Far from Home, coming in 2019, but no, he is not playing the titular hero. (That honor belongs, yet again, to Tom Holland, who first played Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming.)

She’s since shared plenty of photos and videos about the series as well as encouraging quotes, photos of her cats, promotions for her work and husband Keith Urban’s and more. One of her most-liked and most-viewed videos was her interview piece for the Time 100, wherein she talks about growing up with a mom who encouraged her to get into politics and feminism from a young age.

Natalie Portman joined Instagram on Jan. 1, then immediately shared a series of posts about the Time’s Up movement. Throughout the year, she’s shared several other politically minded posts as well as movie clips, red carpet photos and more. One of her most-viewed videos is a clip from her interview on the YouTube series Hot Ones, a show about celebrities trying a selection of increasingly spicy hot wings and answering pressing questions in between. Portman’s wings were, of course, vegan.

As one of the only members of the British royal family to have her own Instagram account, Princess Eugenie’s unique ability to curate her own feed is fascinating to follow. She joined Instagram on International Women’s Day on March 8 and has dedicated her account to spotlighting “causes, passions and people close to [her] heart.” One of her most-liked photos is from her wedding to Jack Brooksbank in October.
