Jennifer Aniston may be busy, but she still has time to see friends — including George and Amal Clooney and their twins, whom she visited over the summer when she was in Italy filming Netflix’s Murder Mystery with Adam Sandler. On Thursday, Aniston made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and shared what it was like seeing Clooney as a dad.

Even though Aniston was on Ellen to promote another one of her films, Netflix’s Dumplin’ (premiering Dec. 7), DeGeneres still took the time to ask Aniston about her other projects. Since Murder Mystery was filmed in Italy over the summer, she and Aniston briefly chatted about Sandler’s propensity to choose beautiful locations for his films as well as the pair’s jaunt to the Clooneys’ Lake Como villa in between filming in August.
Aniston, a longtime friend of Clooney’s, described both he and Amal as “so sweet,” telling DeGeneres, “It’s amazing to see him with children.” She admitted that while she never expected Clooney to become a dad, “That’s what we talked about, that anything can happen.”
Us Weekly reported on the celebrity friends’ time together in August when Aniston and Sandler went with Sandler’s wife, Jackie Sandler, to hang with the Clooneys. An onlooker said they reportedly “were laughing a lot, listening to music and singing together.”
In a more official capacity, Aniston sings in Dumplin’ alongside country music legend Dolly Parton, to whom the film pays homage. Parton and Dumplin’ nabbed a Golden Globe nomination on Thursday for best original song for “Girl in the Movies.”
“I don’t know how I got into it, but I got into it, and there I was one day in a recording studio with Linda Perry and Dolly Parton,” Aniston told DeGeneres. She said she sings on just one song, although, “I sing all of it. All through it. All throughout it. I sing kind of backup for Dolly.”

When prompted to sing live on the show, Aniston was quick to turn down DeGeneres’ suggestion. “No, I wouldn’t sing the song even if you had a plastic squirt gun to my head.” Clearly, singing with friends like the Clooneys and the Sandlers is way more her speed.
