The era of reboots and reunions continues. Despite the CW bringing us five seasons of 90210 from 2008 through 2013, it looks like another Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot is in the works. Although initial reports are thin on details, we’re nonetheless excited about getting a new and improved version of the soapy ’90s teen drama delivered right to our TV screens. Here’s what we know so far.
In March, Tori Spellingteased a new project with her 90210 costar Jennie Garth on Instagram. At the time, People reported that whatever they were working on would be loosely based on the ’90s series, though no further information was available at the time. Now, The Wrap is reporting that original cast members Spelling, Garth, Jason Priestley, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green and Gabrielle Carteris are all returning for the planned 90210 reboot. There’s no word yet on whether Shannon Doherty or Luke Perry will join them.
However, a source told the outlet that the development process is just getting started, so we may still see Doherty and Perry return to their characters in some way. In fact, it’s so early in the development process that the series doesn’t even have a network attached — the pilot is still being pitched to TV studios, though Spelling did include a photo at CBS TV studios in her March post.

“#back2work great creative day yesterday with my #partnerincrime @jenniegarth,” Spelling captioned her Instagram post. She included the hashtags #90210vibes, #donnaandkellyforever and #besties, which suggests that whatever form this reboot takes, it will feature the original cast carrying on their lives nearly 20 years after the original series left the air in 2000. We can only imagine how much they’ve all changed (or not) in that time.
According to The Wrap’s same report about this reboot, this new project features Mike Chessler and Chris Alberghini as cowriters and executive producers. Chessler and Alberghini both worked on the CW’s 90210 and on Spelling’s So Notorious, which means that this reboot is likely in good hands and we can expect that whatever shape this project takes, it’s going to be really fulfilling for fans of the original series.
