Arguably one of the biggest moments from the 2019 Golden Globes didn’t actually happen during the show — it’s what we got to see during a commercial break. In the Globes’ second hour, a break kicked off with HBO teasing its 2019 season with new Game of Thrones and Big Little Lies footage. Each show only got a few seconds of screen time, but there were some juicy one-liners hinting at what fans can expect in each of the upcoming seasons.
With the GoT season eight premiere finally coming up (in April, to be exact), fans have been hungering for any glimpses they can get at what’s to come. Thankfully, they got one in this teaser, in which we see Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow roll into Winterfell and get a chilly welcome from Sansa, who looks at Daenerys and says, “Winterfell is yours, Your Grace.”
Naturally, we have about a million questions, but we’ll have to wait until the season premiere to find out why this is all going down the way it is. For now, we’ll just have to bask in the glory that is Daenerys and Jon giving us serious #PowerCoupleVibes in the quick shot of them looking very loved-up in the commercial.

The other must-see moment comes a little earlier in the HBO commercial, and it’s all about Big Little Lies season two. In a two-second clip, we hear Mary Louise Wright (played by none other than Meryl Streep) say to Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), “I want to know what happened that night,” as the camera cuts to the show’s core female cast in a lineup in the Monterey police station. It looks like the hunt for the truth is kicking into high gear when BLL returns later this year!
In theory, we were all about the Golden Globes this Sunday night — but in reality, we’re now all about HBO’s 2019 lineup. Can you blame us?
