If these two Hollywood women had anything to say right about now, it’d probably be along the lines of: “Stop pitting women against each other.” After an unfortunate report that began trending at the 2019 Golden Globes, Chrissy Metz and Alison Brie are now praising one another, all while slamming ugly rumors involving the two talents.
As reported by Us Weekly, it all began early Sunday when Metz appeared on the Golden Globes’ official Facebook Live preshow and was asked to introduce Brie, who was coming on next for an interview at the other end of the red carpet. After Metz completed her segment, many Twitter users posted that they reportedly heard Metz declare about Brie, “She’s such a bitch.” You can listen to the moment in question here.
From that instance on, the rumors quickly made headlines. But both Metz and Brie responded by spreading love and positivity for each other. First, Metz tweeted, “It’s terribly unfortunate anyone would think much less run a story that was completely fabricated! I adore Alison and would never say a bad word about her, or anyone! I sure hope she knows my heart.”

Metz’s rep also released the following statement to USA Today, “Chrissy has nothing but admiration and respect for Alison and, frankly, every fellow actor who must wade through this much-too-common attempt to create a feud among colleagues. This ‘story’ is a complete fabrication and deserves no further momentum.”
If that isn’t enough, Metz opened up about the Brie situation to People and said, “I’m so distraught and upset. I don’t speak about anyone like that I don’t speak like that. I love Alison, I follow her. When I was walking up they said, ‘Do you know Alison,’ and I said, ‘Oh boy, do I.’ I love her.”
Brie feels the exact same way about Metz, as she posted on her Instagram Story on Sunday, “Nothing but love for @chrissymetz!! Rumors can’t keep us down!”
Brie, who was also nominated for a 2019 Golden Globe, discussed the incident involving Metz with Vanity Fair’s Nicole Sperling, who tweeted, “Just asked Alison Brie about this. She had not heard about Metz’s comments and seemed very confused by the entire matter. ‘But why?,’ she asked. ‘I know her. I saw her on the carpet and I told her how beautiful she looked.'”
Despite what people may think they heard Metz say, neither she nor Brie are falling for it. They clearly have nothing but love for each other and want the world to know there isn’t, nor will there be, a feud brewing between them.
