Kaley Cuoco Sounds Like She’s Already Down for a Big Bang Theory Reboot

On the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday, Kaley Cuoco confessed she isn’t ready to say goodbye to playing Penny on The Big Bang Theory just yet. In fact, Cuoco already wants to do a Big Bang Theory reboot. She joked with Entertainment Tonight that she’d be willing to dive back into the character and the world as early as one year from the series finale, which airs this spring.

“I don’t wanna leave either,” Cuoco told ET on Sunday. “Everyone’s saying the same thing. It’s so sweet… 12 years…. I don’t wanna leave. I don’t wanna leave. I said it. I don’t wanna leave!”

Of course, even though there won’t be new episodes of TBBTafter season 12, Cuoco noted the series will live on for a long time in syndication. Plus, there’s the spinoff series, Young Sheldon, which focuses on Jim Parsons’ character Sheldon Cooper and his childhood.

Cuoco also told ET that she’s ready to do a TBBT reboot basically a soon as the series finale airs. “Everyone’s doing rebooting. We might as well do it… ” she joked, adding that she’d be OK revisiting Penny just one year after the events of season 12.

As for how she feels heading into the final months of filming, Cuoco admitted, “I was hoping we were gonna pre-shoot a lot of [the series finale] ’cause I think there are gonna be a lot of tears.” She added, “It’s gonna be tough. It’s gonna be a lot of emotions, and I love our crew. I just love the people that we’re with every day, so, you know, all good things come to an end. Everyone is still madly in love with each other. We’re all OK with the choice. We’ve just grown up together, so it’s our adult decision.”

It’s been an emotional few months for Cuoco and her castmates since CBS announced that TBBT will end this year. In November, she said she was looking forward to downtime with her husband, Karl Cook, and their four-legged animal friends once filming for season 12 wraps, but given that the series has been such a big part of her life, we can’t blame her for not being ready to say goodbye.
