Megyn Kelly’s Today Replacements Are Announced — & We Approve

Megyn Kelly Today was officially canceled in October, leaving the fate of the program abruptly up in the air. Now, after months of speculation, Megyn Kelly’s official Today replacements appear to have been announced. Kelly will be replaced by not one, but four familiar faces for Today‘s third hour, with Kelly’s own future in television still very much unknown. It’s an exciting new beginning for Today, and we have no doubt these four new cohosts will be able to bring some fun to the show.

On Monday morning, NBC meteorologist Dylan Dreyer (pictured below, bottom left) tweeted out a photo confirming she would be tackling Today‘s third hour alongside Today veteran Al Roker, Craig Melvin and Sheinelle Jones.

“Hope you don’t mind these faces! You’ll be seeing a lot of them at 9 am. Please join us! #3rdhourtoday #youvegotafriendinus #letthegoodtimesroll @TODAYshow @SheinelleJones @craigmelvin @alroker,” Dreyer tweeted out alongside a photo of the foursome smiling for a group selfie.

Dreyer, Roker, Melvin and Jones have all been a part of the Today family for quite some time. While Roker is the most senior member of the team, Melvin worked on the weekend edition of Today for three years from 2015 to 2018 (before joining Today during the weekdays back in September). Jones has been coanchoring the Saturday edition of Today since 2014, appearing during weekday episodes of Today in recent years. Meanwhile, Dreyer has appeared on Today occasionally as a fill-in for Roker, and Carson Daly in the past and has done weather both for MSNBC and NBC News.

In short, these are all familiar faces that fans will no doubt be happy to see more of in the coming months.

Meanwhile, Kelly has been keeping a low profile since she was ousted from Today following the controversy and backlash over comments she made regarding the use of blackface for Halloween costumes in late October. It’s still unclear if she’s planning to return to television anytime soon or if she will channel her professional energies elsewhere in the coming months.
