Legend. John Legend. Perhaps he should get used to introducing himself that way, because — thanks to wife Chrissy Teigen — John Legend has officially reached 007 status by being the center of an epic James Bond-themed 40th birthday party.
Although Legend’s actual birthday was back on Dec. 28, Teigen clearly couldn’t let such a milestone year go by without a proper celebration. So, in honor of her husband reaching the top of the proverbial hill, she hosted a “040” extravaganza in the spirit of Casino Royale.
Judging by the pictures, it was truly the stuff 007 dreams are made of: swanky chandeliers, blackjack tables, dancing, roulette, opulent attire and plenty of cocktails (shaken, not stirred). Legend wore a slick black suit like a good Bond would, and Teigen looked like a stunning Bond Girl in a glittery gold dress and dripping in diamonds.
Naturally, Teigen invited a few of the couple’s famous friends, including Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West, along with Kourtney Kardashian.

However, the real MVPs of the guest list proved to be Legend and Teigen’s adorable kids, Luna, 2, and baby Miles. Both dressed for the occasion, with little Luna wearing a white and gold dress to match Mommy’s. In a video shared to Instagram, she’s dancing with her parents at the party to Beyoncé’s “Love on Top.”
Teigen enlisted Twitter ahead of the party to help pick baby Miles’ ensemble, asking fans to choose between a black and white tuxedo coat for his “mini-John” look. To be clear, this kid could be cute wearing a paper sack. So the tot in the white coat chosen by nearly 1 million of Teigen’s Twitter followers proved, not surprisingly, to be off-the-charts adorable.

Aside from Teigen’s tweet, neither she nor Legend has directly addressed the fete — unless, that is, you count Teigen lamenting the fact that she agreed to attend the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday after presumably enjoying the birthday party a bit too much.
But Teigen had plenty to say about her husband on his actual birthday back in December.

“Happy 40th birthday to the most incredible man. The best father, hardest worker, best lover, best friend I could ever imagine,” Teigen wrote in a heartfelt Instagram post. “Every day I am grateful for how much you love us and how much you both say it and show it. You are one of a kind. I am grateful to your family for creating and raising such a pure, sweet, brilliant man. The world has been blessed by your 40 years on this planet.”
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Teigen sentiment if it didn’t have a little bite to it. She playfully concluded the post with a bit of sexual innuendo, joking, “I love you. I showed you that this morning. BOOYAHHHH.”
