Sarah Jessica Parker Teases the Return of Carrie Bradshaw — But There’s a Catch

Sex and the City fans, break out your best Manolos and pour yourself a Cosmo — Carrie Bradshaw is back! At least, she will be soon, according to a video posted by Sarah Jessica Parker to Instagram on Saturday. But what does it all mean??

In the short clip, Parker is walking down a New York City street in full Carrie Bradshaw fashion glory. The familiar refrains of the theme song play as Parker turns and looks upward, where “#PourItForward” appears on-screen (more on that in a minute).

“My old friend. She is making a brief reappearance. Partnering with a great brand and supporting a cause we all care about. More to come. X, SJ,” Parker captioned the teaser.

Sadly, the return of Carrie Bradshaw doesn’t herald a third Sex and the City movie. As fans know by now, it’s unlikely that Kim Cattrall will change her mind about being part of the franchise again, and Parker has repeatedly said she can’t imagine doing another sequel without Cattrall as the inimitable Samantha Jones.

But let’s be real: We’ll take a little Carrie Bradshaw any way we can get her! And, in this case, that would appear to be as part of a charity Parker has aligned herself with. Since Parker doesn’t explicitly state which charity that is, all we can really do at this point is speculate… and Google, naturally.

Searching “#PourItForward” yields several possible charitable results, the most promising of which is the partnership between Belgian pilsner brand Stella Artois and Water.org, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to helping provide safe water and sanitation to the 884 million people lacking access around the globe. Stella Artois, in collaboration with Water.org, sells a limited-edition chalice that funds five years of clean water to someone in the developing world.

If this all sounds familiar, it may be because you’ve seen another celebrity promoting the worthy cause: Matt Damon. In fact, Damon and business partner Gary White co-founded Water.org. And, hey-oh, the charity’s tagline is “Water changes lives #PourItForward.”

Parker did say she was bringing Carrie back for a cause everyone cares about, right? Clean water for all certainly fits the bill. Not to mention that Parker and Damon could be such a powerful force for change together.

Basically, what we’re trying to say is, “Carrie Bradshaw, take all our money.” It’s for the greater good, after all, and we all know that Carrie believes in karma.
