Emily Blunt Says People Warned Her That Doing A Quiet Place Would Lead to Divorce

Despite multiple suggestions to the contrary, there doesn’t seem to be anything that can break up the trust and connection between Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. After she won at the SAG Awards on Sunday for her performance in A Quiet Place, Blunt told reporters she and Krasinski were warned not to work together. However, ignoring those warnings has paid off for the power couple in more ways than one.

“My favorite thing about shooting A Quiet Place for sure was working with John,” Blunt told reporters in the SAG pressroom, according to People. She reiterated that it was their first time working together, although they’ve been married since 2010 and have two children together. “We had never done it before and it is kind of the great unknown,” she said.

Blunt continued, “You go into this process not knowing what it’s going to be like. A lot of people were like ‘You’re going to be divorced by the end of it,’ but we were so much closer. I think the discovery of how we collaborated and could create something together was just so special.”

She also admitted she and Krasinski were equally shocked by her win. “He probably was as shocked as I was because I think it was very unexpected and it’s an incredible category and it’s certainly not something I had planned for. I was pretty blown away and I think he was just overjoyed. He was overjoyed.”

Krasinski shared a photo from the moment Blunt’s name was called as the winner on Instagram. They both look genuinely shocked, and as Krasinski wrote in the caption, they were speechless: “Very fittingly… no words.”

During her moving acceptance speech, Blunt thanked Krasinski for casting her in the part and praised his filmmaking prowess. “I am going to share this completely with my husband, John Krasinski, because the entire experience of doing this with you has completely pierced my heart,” she told the SAG Awards audience, both in the ballroom and at home. “You are a stunning filmmaker. I am so lucky to be with you and to have done this film with you.”

These two are always vocal about supporting each other, and it’s good to know that working together only solidified their bond.
