Well here is some happy news for yet another celebrity couple. Jennifer Lawrence is engaged to Cooke Maroney, her rep has confirmed to multiple outlets. Page Six was the first to report the news late Tuesday revealing the Oscar-winning actor was recently seen wearing a diamond described as a “massive ring” on that finger, which fueled the engagement speculation. And now according to her rep, the engagement news is true.
According to a Page Six source, the couple was seen dining in New York City over the weekend, where J. Law’s ring was first noticed. “It was a giant rock,” per the source. “They seemed like they were celebrating and people were talking about it. The ring was very noticeable. They were sitting back in a corner. She was wearing a cute black dress with white polka dots.”
Lawrence and Maroney were first linked in June 2018 after being introduced by the The Hunger Games star’s best friend, Laura Simpson, Page Six reported at the time. A source also told the publication, which was first to report the news last summer, “They met through Jen’s friend Laura … The relationship has been going on a few weeks. But they have been very private and careful not to be seen together.”

Entertainment Tonight reports that Maroney is an art director for the Gladstone 64 gallery located in the Upper East Side of New York City. Apparently, Lena Dunham’s father, Carroll Dunham, is “one of the gallery’s biggest clients.”
It appears Lawrence and Maroney have kept most of their relationship out of the public eye, save for a few occasions when they’ve been spotted together, including when they vacationed in Rome in April 2018.
The couple has also been photographed holding hands and dining together in the Big Apple. People reported in September of last year that Lawrence even took Maroney as her date to the New York Film Festival premiere of The Favourite, which stars her good friend Emma Stone and her ex-boyfriend, Nicholas Hoult.
At this time, neither Lawrence nor Cooke have publicly made a statement regarding the proposal. Page Six also reports that the Mother! actor has only been telling her closest friends and family that she’s engaged.
