While some men are hands-off when it comes to wedding planning, Chris Pratt isn’t most men. Mere weeks after popping the question to Katherine Schwarzenegger, Pratt let it slip that wedding planning is underway, and he has taken an active interest in the process.
“Well, of course we’ve started, and [I’m] pretty involved,” he revealed during an appearance on Good Morning America Tuesday.
While Pratt quickly pivoted to another topic, a source reportedly told E! News that Pratt isn’t the only person (other than Schwarzenegger) who’s excited to contribute. Per the source, mother of the bride Maria Shriver will be “very involved with the planning.”
The source also claims that, despite Pratt referencing a “fall, winter kind of thing” to reporters recently, the couple is allegedly “looking at summer wedding dates.” This same source claims that the wedding venue will likely be in Martha’s Vineyard, “a special place for Katherine and where she spent a lot of time growing up.”
“Chris wants her to have her perfect day and whatever she wants,” said the source. “It will be a big wedding and very traditional.”
The couple went public with their engagement on Jan. 13, with Pratt posting on Instagram, “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!”
Schwarzenegger echoed the sentiment, sharing the same photo and writing, “My sweet love. Wouldn’t want to live this life with anyone else.”

This will be the first marriage for Schwarzenegger and the second for Pratt, who was famously wed to Anna Faris for nearly a decade. The two, who share son Jack, amicably split in 2017. Faris has openly supported Pratt and Schwarzenegger’s relationship.
At the premiere of The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, for which Pratt is voicing several characters, earlier in the week, Pratt admitted he was a bit intimidated asking his future father-in-law, Arnold Schwarzenegger, for permission to marry Schwarzenegger.
“Well, you know, I think any person who appreciates a tradition and asks a father for his daughter’s hand in marriage… it’s inevitably going to be something that makes you a little nervous, but that’s sort of the beauty of it, you know?”
Fortunately for Pratt, his soon-to-be wife’s parents have given him the stamp of approval. While Shriver has been a vocal proponent of the pair (she reportedly set them up!), Arnold hasn’t said as much — but what he has said has been high praise.
In an interview with Extra’s Mario Lopez that aired on Jan. 13, Arnold gushed, “She is so happy. They both are so happy. As I said to him, he is such a likable guy. I love Chris — he’s fantastic.”
Onward with the wedding planning!
