In the era of online dating, it’s becoming more commonplace for people to learn details about new love interests without meeting in person first. Apparently, even celebrities are getting to know their beaus over the phone or online before meeting, including Lindsay Lohan’s mom. Dina Lohan told her Celebrity Big Brother housemates that she has yet to meet her boyfriend of five years in person, though she feels very strongly about him.
“I can’t wait to tell you about this guy,” she told Kandi Burruss, Tamar Braxton and Natalie Eva Marie, per People magazine. “I’ve been talking to him for five years. Like, every day. A lot. I feel like I know him. You know when you talk to someone on the phone, like you feel like you know them?”
Lohan explained that she and her boyfriend have yet to meet in person because he lives in San Francisco, is taking care of his sick mother and doesn’t use FaceTime. While this sounds suspiciously like the plot of several episodes of MTV’s Catfish, Lohan insisted that there’s nothing fishy going on. “It’s personal,” she said. “He’s real. I swear, it’s crazy. But I’m going to marry him. It’s really, really true. I talk to his ma!”

Apparently, Lohan’s housemates also expressed concern that she’s being catfished. Braxton even offered to go to the Bay Area with Lohan to meet this mystery man in person. “It’s real!” Lohan reportedly said. “Some guys don’t just use iPhones!”
Hopefully, Lohan isn’t headed for a broken heart. She keeps up a semi-regular social media presence, where she mostly shares photos of her four children, her mom and their adventures together. Whether or not her beau will ever make an appearance remains to be seen, but for her sake, we hope he’s real and just isn’t into video chatting.
