See? Exes really can be friends. On Feb. 11, Justin Theroux celebrated Jennifer Aniston’s birthday by posting the most supportive Instagram possible.
Believe it or not, but Aniston turned 50 on Monday. By the way, she also had the most star-studded birthday party ever that Brad Pitt even attended, according to People. But back to Theroux’s praise-worthy photo that he shared on Monday of his former partner holding a pair of bull horns over her head and flexing her muscles. The Leftovers actor made sure to honor one of the Golden Globe winner’s best qualities — her fierceness.
Next to what is absolutely a fierce image, he wrote, “Happy Birthday to this fierce Woman.
Fiercely loving. Fiercely kind. ….and fiercely funny. [heart emoji] you B.”

How awesome is that? His Instagram just goes to prove that not only can ex-spouses remain friends, but that there are no hard feelings between Aniston and Theroux. In February 2018, the two announced their breakup after two years of marriage and a total of seven years together.
At the time, Aniston’s publicist, Stephen Huvane released a joint statement to the Associated Press reading, “In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.”
The statement continued, “Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.”
Well, there’s no denying they’ve done exactly what their statement revealed. As sad as many people were about their split, Aniston has repeatedly made it clear that she is perfectly fine.

Like the Dumplin’ actress said as InStyle’s September 2018 cover star, “The misconceptions are ‘Jen can’t keep a man,’ and ‘Jen refuses to have a baby because she’s selfish and committed to her career.’ Or that I’m sad and heartbroken. First, with all due respect, I’m not heartbroken. And second, those are reckless assumptions.”
Based on Aniston’s response above and Theroux’s birthday post for her, not only do they both appear to be happy, but they also seem to be on extremely good terms. It’s refreshing to see two exes, especially celebrities, remain friends who also love and respect one another. Aniston and Theroux have set a truly great example.
