The biggest night in Hollywood is finally here, and the 2019 Oscars red carpet looks are positively stunning. It’s always a treat to see the ultra-glam looks on the red carpet ahead of the actual show, but this year already feels extra special. Sunday night’s festivities began with lots to looks at, with Emilia Clarke opting for a chic soft lavender gown, and Constance Wu sporting a bright, lemony yellow dress fit for a princess. Everyone will be talking about Billy Porter’s daring half-tuxe, half-gown ensemble, and Ryan Seacrest also shook things up with a maroon and black tuxedo jacket.

Emilia Clarke
Emilia Clarke, a presenter at the 2019 Oscars, arrived looking stunning in a soft purple, figure-hugging gown with structured draping at the waist and tons of tiny jewels sewn onto the gown.
Ryan Seacrest
Ryan Seacrest was sporting an optical tuxedo jacket in maroon and black, going for black pants and a gold watch to accessorize.
Billy Porter
Actor Billy Porter took everyone’s breath away early in the night, arriving on the red carpet in a custom Christian Siriano half-tux, half-gown ensemble that was absolutely glorious to behold.
Constance Wu
Crazy Rich Asians star and Oscars presenter Constance Wu looked like a modern Disney princess with her bright yellow gown with gauzy, off-the-shoulder sleeves.
Michelle Yeoh
Crazy Rich Asians star Michelle Yeoh’s Oscars gown was absolutely gorgeous, with a metallic foil bodice giving way to a gauzy taupe skirt. Yeoh completed the look with simple earrings and lots of diamond bracelets.
Stephan James
If Beale Street Could Talk star Stephan James went ultra bold, matching the Oscars red carpet in a sleek red velvet suit and adding in bright white boots to complete the look.
The Bohemian Rhapsody crew
The boys of Bohemian Rhapsody (left to right: Gwilym Lee, Allen Leech, Joseph Mazzello and Ben Hardy) cleaned up very, very nicely, all going for sleek tuxes and slicked back hair as they made their way down the red carpet.
Amy Poehler
Amy Poehler bucked tradition with an all-black suit and loose update the allowed some face-framing layers to accentuate her simple make-up look that featured a bold smoky eye.
Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron shut it down in a simple periwinkle blue gown that hugged her curves and lots of diamonds around her neck and on her wrists to finish the ensemble.
Jason Momoa
Jason Momoa looked oh-so-good in a velvety pink tuxedo, complete with what appears to be a velvet pink scrunchie for his long locks (yes!), some chunky rings and necklaces (double yes!) and a big smile to top of all the look (all the yes!).
Glenn Close
Best actress nominee Glenn Close looked beyond stunning in an all-gold ensemble complete with a shimmering gold cape. If anyone deserved an Oscar for their look, it’s definitely Close.
Linda Cardellini
Green Book actor Linda Cardellini opted to go all ruffles and drama with her hot pink dress and ’60s-era updo.
Yalitza Aparicio & Marina de Tavira
Roma stars and acting nominees Yalitza Aparicio and Marina de Tavira chose bold gowns for their Oscars debut. Aparicio went mermaid chic with a seafoam blue gown that had pearly accents while de Tavira chose a gown of layered red ruffles.
Octavia Spencer
Octavia Spencer went chic and stately in a sparkling navy gown that hit her in all the right places. We’re living!
Regina King
Regina King was a dream in an elegant, simple white dress with a medium-length white train and a high slit going up her leg.
Awkwafina
Crazy Rich Asians star and Oscars presenter Awkwafina kept it fun in a metallic pantsuit that featured an oversized pink bow. She completed her look with a matching clutch and loose waves falling at her shoulders.
Kacey Musgraves
Oscars presenter Kacey Musgraves served up serious cotton candy vibes with her dramatic, ruffled pink dress that featured high, stiff ruffled sleeves.
Brie Larson
Like King, Brie Larson also capitalized on the high-slit trend, rocking a shimmery, flowing silver gown that was sleek, with a high neck adding some drama.
Emma Stone
And speaking of drama, best supporting actress nominee Emma Stone brought all of the drama with a diamond-patterned copper gown and high, pointed shoulder to add even more dimension to her look.
Rachel Weisz
Best supporting actress nominee Rachel Weisz mixed textiles for her Oscars look. The actress wore what looked like a leathery, PVC-style capelet over a sweet persimmon-colored dress.
Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez went all in on the drama, wearing a textured silver gown and keeping the hair and accessories simple so the eye stays glued to her dress (and it worked).
Lady Gaga
One of the last to arrive on the red carpet was Lady Gaga, who looked like a total winner in Alexander McQueen. The best actress nomineed added a large, show-stopping yellow diamond necklace and long black evening gloves to complete the look.
These were definitely our favorite looks on the 2019 Oscars red carpet, and there’s no doubt in our minds that we’ll be thinking of these for a long time to come. Well, until next year, at least.
