It’s a good day to be Robin Thicke and April Love Geary, that’s for sure. On Tuesday, Thicke and Geary welcomed their second child together, a daughter who looks like such a bundle of joy in the photos her parents posted to Instagram confirming her arrival. Plus, Thicke and Geary confirmed the name they chose for their daughter, and it features a special middle name that fans of Thicke’s will surely love.
An Instagram post from Thicke heralded the news of his daughter’s arrival. In the photo, Thicke holds his daughter while still wearing scrubs looking so happy. In the caption, he shares the name he and Geary chose: “Lola Alain Thicke was born this morning 2/26/19 at 8:21 am. Thank you God and April Love for this blessing! @aprillovegeary #fatherofthree.”
Geary also shared a picture of herself, Thicke and the new baby to her own Instagram. In the pic, they seem to be radiating pure joy at the arrival of their little bundle of joy. She captioned the photo with a loving sentiment, writing, “My beautiful baby girl, I’m already so in love with you! Your big sister is on her way to meet you.”
We’re guessing that Lola’s middle name, Alain, has been chosen in honor of Thicke’s late father, actor Alan Thicke, who died in 2016. Thicke was reportedly very close to his father, so it feels like a sweet, sentimental touch to give his newborn daughter a name that honors her grandfather while also feeling very unique.

That big sister Geary is referring to in her Instagram announcement on Lola’s birth is Thicke and Geary’s first child together, daughter Mia, who just turned 1 on Feb. 22. Thicke also shares custody of his son Julian, 8, with ex-wife Paula Patton, who he divorced in 2015. Geary and Thicke seem very focused on creating a new family together, as indicated by them welcoming two gorgeous daughters in as many years and, happily, Thicke proposing to Geary in December 2018.

For Geary, the road to two daughters and a growing family hasn’t been smooth, although the end result is definitely happy. In August, Geary shared on Instagram that she suffered a miscarriage before Mia’s arrival, writing, “I’m not scared, worrying or stressing out too much isn’t good for the baby. Life happens, and we can’t control everything.”
We’re happy for Geary and Thicke, especially considering the storms they’ve had to weather to get to this point. We can’t wait to follow them on their journey as new parents with Lola.
