Prepare to have your minds blown, because earlier this week, HGTV stars Drew and Jonathan Scott’s 2018 salaries were revealed. The actual amount of money the Property Brothers stars raked in is mind-boggling and may actually make you look at them in a whole new light.

As reported in the March 2019 issue of Entrepreneur magazine, the Scott brothers reportedly earned around “a half-billion dollars in sales in 2018” through their production company, Scott Brothers Entertainment, as well as their Scott Living housewares brand and multiple television projects. Now that’s what we call hustle.

“There are probably less than 100 actors who make more than we do across our empire,” Jonathan said in and extensive Entrepreneur interview. “We thought it was the bee’s knees to be a successful actor, but pursuing that would have never opened up this world to us.” The brothers’ success is even more mind-boggling when you consider where they began. As Drew told Entrepreneur in that same interview, he owed $140,000 in credit card debt as a struggling actor before the brothers hit the jackpot with their HGTV gig.

The real-life brothers and partners in crime help prospective homeowners buy extreme fixer-uppers, then spend a few months with the buyers on decor and renovation. That’s the simple premise of their flagship show, Property Brothers. It’s an equation that is definitely paying off on HGTV, which has now aired the show for a whopping 13 seasons.

The Scott brothers have managed to transform a real estate business into a television hit, then one show into six others and then those shows into a production company, Scott Brothers Entertainment. They also created the aforementioned Scott Living, a housewares, furniture and decor brand that is really resonating with their fans. Scott Living nudged the brothers’ earnings over the half-billion mark in 2018.

What’s next for these go-getters? They’re working on a consumer-oriented design platform, Casaza — and their empire shows no sign of slowing down. The brothers are grateful for their success — and for each other. Seriously, what’s not to love about this (very rich) celebrity brother duo? Color us quite impressed, especially now that we know how much they made in 2018.
