With just three contestants left in Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor, the competition for Underwood’s affection is getting tight. It’s around this time that ABC would choose one finalist from The Bachelor to become the next Bachelorette. At least, that’s how it’s been done in the past. This year, with no name being thrown into the mix, former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay weighs in on who the next Bachelorette should be and her answer may surprise you.
“I don’t think it should be anybody from this season,” Lindsay told Us Weekly in an interview published on Friday. “There’s just so much cattiness going on. You don’t know who to believe, you don’t know what’s true. I don’t trust any of them!” She added, “She said this, she said that, and usually, when you get down to the top four, it’s drama-free. … There’s just so much going on. I don’t like it! I can’t see any of them being the next Bachelorette.”
Ouch. Lindsay doesn’t mince words when she expresses her thoughts on Bachelor Nation and this interview is no exception. She’s previously expressed her frustration with ABC for not wanting to televise her wedding to her fiancé Bryan Abasolo, whom she picked as her one-and-only from a crop of contestants in The Bachelorette season 13. It isn’t surprising that she’s being so honest about her thoughts on Underwood’s contestants, especially with what is sure to be an explosive finale coming up just around the corner.

Although Lindsay isn’t fond of the current Bachelor contestants, she does think ABC could break tradition and choose a new Bachelorette from the franchise’s long history. Her suggestions? Danielle Maltby and Kristina Schulman, two previous contestants from Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise.
“They’re my friends, so it’s nice!” Lindsay said. “But I say that because I actually know them in real life, and I think they’re two women that people want to see find love. You’ve seen their hearts broken multiple times in different ways, and they’ve both been very outspoken about that. I know them personally, away from the camera, and how much they really want to find their person. So I think they would both be great.”
We’re fairly certain the next Bachelorette will, in fact, be one of Underwood’s finalists, but we respect Lindsay for voicing her honest opinion regardless.
