Drew Scott Says He Wants to Raise His Kids to Be Feminists & We’re Here For it

International Women’s Day is a chance to celebrate all of the women in our lives and one HGTV is participating wholeheartedly. On Friday, Property Brothers star Drew Scott praised his wife and talked about raising feminists in a series of tweets connected to International Women’s Day. Scott said that one of the things he most looks forward to about becoming a parent is raising their children with key values that are especially inspired by Phan.

“Happy #InternationalWomensDay!” Scott wrote in the first of two tweets about the day. “This day belongs to everyone, everywhere. As we celebrate the achievements of women, let’s all work to #BalanceForBetter at home, at school, at work…”

In a follow-up tweet, Scott shared a photo of Phan wearing a shirt that says “Make Art Not War.” He captioned the picture, “My #1 woman here inspires me every day with her limitless compassion, kindness, strength and her love for the planet.”

It’s in the second tweet that Scott identifies how he wants to raise his and Phan’s future children together. He writes, “When we have little ones (daughters AND sons), I look forward to raising them as feminists.”

It’s a great sentiment for International Women’s Day, but it’s also something that clearly aligns with Scott’s and Phan’s values, which is wonderful and which we cosign.

Scott and Phan tied the knot in 2018 and he has not been shy about wanting to start a family. According to People, he commented on Joanna Gaines’ Instagram in January, noting that when baby Crew starts growing out of his clothes, Gaines could hand them down to Scott and Phan. He wrote, “We’ll be having kids soon so I’ll hit you up for hand me downs.”

Although neither Scott nor Phan has hinted in any concrete way that they will be having kids sooner than later, the subject of kids does seem to be on the mind. Regardless of when they have kids, we have a good feeling this celebrity couple will be fabulous as parents.
