Kaley Cuoco Gets Emotional Reacting to The Big Bang Theory Series Finale Date

Kaley Cuoco is having all the feels about the imminent series finale of The Big Bang Theoryand she’s not afraid to share them with the world. Following the announcement that the final TBBT episode would air on Thursday, May 16, Cuoco reacted to the TBBT series finale news on her Instagram Story. Alongside a photo announcing the final episode’s air date and featuring her TBBT character, Penny Hofstadter, Cuoco wrote, “I’m not crying you’re crying.”

Cuoco wasn’t the only one cast member feeling all the feelings this week in light of the confirmation about the series finale. TBBT costar Johnny Galecki shared his own photo collage of the TBBT cast on Instagram, writing, “273 episodes filmed. 26 days left on the Big Bang stage. 6 episodes to be filmed. 66 days until the 1 hour finale airs. All VERY surreal. Much [heart emoji] to the all the fans….”

The Big Bang Theory has been a CBS hit since its inception in 2007. The cast — which includes Jim Parsons, Melissa Rauch and Simon Helberg — chatted with Ellen DeGeneres in January about the ending of their much-beloved show. During that cast interview, Cuoco opened up about how tough it was to film the final episodes of the show.

“The crew, all the camera guys and everyone came out and they were like, ‘We’re so glad you cried because we’ve been waiting to cry,'” she told DeGeneres, referring to breaking down onset while rehearsing a scene with Galecki. “And then they all gave us this huge group hug and we all just cried for like 10 minutes.”

Unlike Cuoco or Galecki, Parsons hasn’t gotten emotional — yet. He told Ellen during the January cast interview that “I have a very deep fear — seriously — that the most unexpected thing is going to happen, I’m going to absolutely lose my shit.”

He continued, “‘Cause it really is profound, the amount of time of your life, and it’s, like, more than, I think, any of us can get a grip on and I’m worried something is going to trigger me, like, deep down something is going to be like, ‘Oh! I didn’t know that was there! That hurts.'”

We’re feeling the mood too, big time. Congrats to the long-running show, and more importantly, can someone please pass Cuoco a big box of tissues, please?
