Talk about a power couple. On Thursday, Rosario Dawson confirmed her relationship with Senator Cory Booker, who declared in February that he hopes to be the Democratic presidential candidate in 2020. When TMZ stopped her at the Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. to ask about the rumored relationship, she said they are “very much” together. They have been since sometime before Feb. 1, when Booker declared his intentions to run for president.
Dawson told TMZ that their relationship is “so far, wonderful.” She gushed, “He’s a wonderful human being. It’s good to spend some time together when we can. … I’m just grateful to be with someone I respect and love and admire so much, who is so brilliant, and kind, and caring, and loving.”
From the sounds of it, this relationship is already pretty serious; Dawson also looks more than happy to talk about their romance, which is too sweet.
In addition to confirming their relationship, Dawson showed off a “Cory Booker 2020” pin she had on her purse when asked if she thought he would make a good president. As for whether or not there’s potential for Dawson to become FLOTUS someday, she said she has “no idea” if the two will get engaged or married anytime soon.
Rumors have been swirling around these two since January, when they were spotted together at a play acting extra flirtatious. Four days after he declared his run for president in February, Booker told The Breakfast Club radio show, “I got a boo,” but he didn’t name Dawson and avoided questions about a potential marriage.
However, when asked if he worried that someone might want to date him just for his potential political power, he said he wasn’t worried about that. “No, before I declared president, I’m dating somebody really special,” he said. Now we know for sure that he was talking about Dawson.
