Among the many celebrities reacting to the college admissions cheating scam case is Olivia Munn, who took to Twitter to share her feelings about it on Thursday. Munn slammed those parents involved, going so far as to say that what the parents allegedly involved did was not for the love of their children. Move over Kelly Ripa, it’s Munn’s turn to speak on this issue.
The scandal involves dozens of parents, including actors Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin. The parents are charged with paying big cash to “admissions consultant” William Singer and his dubious nonprofit, Key Worldwide Foundation. Prosecutors claim was only a front for collecting bribe money — to ensure their teens’ acceptances into top universities, including USC, Stanford, Yale and Georgetown.
Munn tweeted her take on the case on Thursday, stating: “What these parents did wasn’t for love, it was for fancy diplomas… Love would’ve made you spend that money on tutors to make your kids smarter, giving them an actual education.”
Munn didn’t stop there. She continued calling out those charged in the bribery, writing, “The irony will be that these parents spent all this money to hustle into top universities and are now in the middle of this shit show just to find out in a few years that their kids only have dreams of being an influencer.”
That seems to be an obvious jab at Loughlin’s daughter, Olivia Jade Giannulli, who is a YouTube influencer, continuing with, “I went to Harvard to be an Instagrammer. #ad #abs #fittea #waisttrainer #fitnessgoals #matchamornings #keto #lchf #superfoodmuffins.”

When a fan suggested to Munn that Michael Brown — the high school student accepted to numerous Ivy League schools on his own merit— came to mind with this scandal still in play, Munn tweeted, “There isn’t a cap on how many opportunities you should reach for. Unless you work really hard on your own merit and have that hard work pay off, well then you just crossed the line you greedy super smart kid who’s just trying to live your best life.”

Loughlin and her husband, designer Mossimo Giannulli, have both been accused of paying bribes totaling $500,000 to have their two daughters admitted as designated USC crew team recruits. However, neither daughter had ever participated in crew. On Thursday, March 14, Hallmark Channel cut ties with Loughlin and it’s very possible more professional fallout for the Full House alum could come soon.
Huffman allegedly donated $15,000 to Singer’s organization to ensure one of her daughters would get an exceptional ACT score to further ensure she got into college. Huffman’s husband, actor William H. Macy, has yet to be charged. He appears as “spouse” in transcripts of taped phone conversations taped, yet it’s unclear just how much about Macy knew about Huffman’s alleged criminal activity.
Loughlin and Huffman have been ordered to appear in federal court in Boston on March 29. Neither actor has released a public statement yet about this case.
