Any dating rumors you may have heard about Charlize Theron seem to be untrue. On Thursday, Theron opened up about her love life and issued a challenge for potential suitors during an appearance with her Long Shot costar, Seth Rogen, at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. From the sounds of it, Theron is ready for a relationship, but there haven’t been any takers for at least a decade.
In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight about her new movie, wherein Rogen attempts to court her character despite her run for POTUS and the fact that she babysat him as a kid, Theron admitted that she has been single for a long time.
“I’ve been single for 10 years, it’s not a long shot. Somebody just needs to grow a pair and step up,” she said. “I’m shockingly available.”
“She’s out there,” Rogen added.
“I’ve made it very clear,” Theron said.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Theron’s last public relationship was with the actor Stuart Townsend, whom she met on the set of the 2002 film Trapped. They split in 2010 and she dated Sean Penn from 2013 to 2015, when they split following a brief engagement. Theron has also been linked to Brad Pitt in recent months, though those rumors appear to be unfounded.

Questions about Theron’s love life are bound to come up during promotion for Long Shot, which is all about mismatched people finding their way to each other through wild-but-still-believable circumstances. She and Rogen have also been doing some more creative press, including an interview with a roomful of puppies — which ended in a slight injury when one of the puppies bit Theron’s chest as they were playing.
“By the way, my kids actually did think it was off and then asked many questions afterwards,” Theron told ET. “It’s damaged… there’s damage. There is damage in this area, yes. But I still love the puppy and the puppy should find a good home and I don’t blame the puppy. I blame my boob.”
