You Have to See the Dramatic First Trailer for Hannah Brown’s Season of The Bachelorette

Every season of a Bachelor Nation show leads to some serious transformations for participants, but this time around, ABC is really focusing on that aspect for its promotional material. The dramatic first trailer for Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette premiered on Friday and in it, she literally sheds her pre-show life as she walks through an ethereal forest trailing rose petals behind her. Whatever happens when her season premieres this May, one thing is for sure: it’s not going to be anything like what we expect. After all, these shows always have more twists and turns than we could ever hope to predict.

As mentioned above, Brown sheds her pre-show life in the first promo for her season of The Bachelorette. That means she literally takes off a pageant tiara, rips her sash and sheds the skirt part of her gown, leaving her in a sleek, white jumpsuit, as she walks through what looks like the setting of a fairytale. A version of Lesley Gore’s 1963 song “You Don’t Own Me” plays in the background as Brown seemingly leaves behind her Miss Alabama 2018 title and steps into a new role, as the next bachelorette.

The trailer ends with Brown walking toward the camera. These words make their way onto the screen as she does: “Think you know her? Think again.”

Brown was named as the next bachelorette shortly after Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor, on which Brown was a runner-up, ended with a wild reunion between him and Cassie Randolph after she quit the show. During the traditional Women Tell All special following the season’s end, Brown was introduced to some of her potential suitors in a pretty high-pressure way.

Since then, she’s opened up about what she’s looking for in a partner. During a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Brown joked, “Oh man they gotta be good looking.” Then she said, “Just a good human. Good heart, kind, strong, but ultimately I want at the end of this to know that they know me. And know every part of me. And not just some version of myself that I, like, package together and am like, ‘Do you like this?’ And I think I’ve done that in the past. But the good and the bad and I want that in return.”

The Bachelorette returns to ABC on Monday, May 13 at 8/7c.
