Easter is coming up quick, y’all, and that means all of our favorite celebrities are preparing for the big springtime holiday. In the case of Kelly Ripa, her Easter pregame involves posting hilarious photos of her kids when they were little from the days of Easter past. On Thursday, Ripa posted an Easter throwback photo on Instagram of her two oldest kids, Michael and Lola, meeting the Easter bunny. The photo is perfect — and it perfectly encapsulates what happens to every parent when they haul their kid to the mall to meet E.B.
“Couldn’t wait til Thursday to throw back to Easter Bunny 2002. I showed you mine. You show me yours. Go to KellyandRyan.com to send Buntastic pics,” Ripa captioned the 17-year-old photo of Michael and Lola on her Instagram.
The photo shows two very different types of reactions that kids have when it comes time to meet the Easter Bunny at your local mall. Michael, sitting to the Easter Bunny’s right side, looks stoked to be there meeting the guy who will fill his Easter basket with candy. Lola, on the other hand, looks very, very miserable as she sits on the Easter Bunny’s lap and wails.

Lola, never one to hold back from commenting on her parents’ photos, tried to exonerate herself by writing, “My biggest fear is still when ppl dress up in these costumes like why it’s literally horrifying.” Just between us, Lola, we totally get it. People in bunny costumes can be creepy AF.
Ripa’s photo was the first in what will surely be many photos shared on Live! With Kelly and Ryan in the coming days since Ripa encouraged folks to send in their past Easter photos where their kids’ reactions take center stage. We cannot wait to see what photos are submitted but for now, Ripa’s photo has set the bar very high.
