It seems you can’t be a woman in the limelight without having at least one alleged feud attached to your name. The trick, however, is learning how to shut down rumors while staying true to yourself. Enter: Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, two superstars who have been pitted against one another just because they happen to be women in the same industry.
Clarkson, who is candid, witty and incredibly personable on social media, took to Twitter to trash the news that her and Underwood are “trashing” each other, but seems to have started another feud in the process. The Voice star posted a photo of a tabloid splashed with a side-by-side photo of her and Underwood, with the words “Secret Feud Explodes” emblazoned on the cover.
“Someone just sent me this & I’m like why does she get the good pic & I have the worst expression I’ve ever made w/zero muscles being used in my face ha!” Clarkson quipped. “I officially have a feud w/whoever used this pic! At least give me a good pic if y’all are gonna be lying is all I’m sayin.”
BOOM! That’s how you call out a tabloid and gain new followers all at once.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time Clarkson has had to comment on the alleged “bad blood” between her and Underwood. The singers made news last year when they posed for a red carpet photo at the Radio Disney Music Awards, a move Clarkson later admitted to orchestrating.
“Everybody always tries to pit me and Carrie against each other,” she said in an Entertainment Tonight interview that night. “So, when I saw her I was like, ‘You know what? Let’s just end this right now and get a picture together because we are never in the same place.’ And, like, it never happens. And people always try to put it together like we’re enemies. And I’m like, ‘We don’t even know each other well enough to be enemies.’ So, anyway, I went to get a picture and then everybody lost their mind.”
Clarkson may not have stopped the tabloids from hyping up a nonexistent beef, but she certainly gave a one-two punch in the most Kelly Clarkson way possible.
