Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry may be keeping the birth of their baby private, but the signs are clear: Baby Sussex will be welcomed into the world any day now. Our latest hint? Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, flew in to London from Los Angeles to be with her daughter for the birth.
While Meghan’s father has caused some public controversy, she’s always been close with her mother. Ragland was the only member of Meghan’s family at the royal wedding, and had visited the couple several times during their engagement. “Meghan draws a lot of strength from her mother,” a long-time friend of Meghan’s told People back in May of 2018. Another source from the wedding confirms that Ragland was “bursting with pride” at her daughter’s nuptials, which she watched with “tears in her eyes.”
Despite their close relationship, People reports that Ragland won’t be living with the couple at Frogmore Cottage. A source shared that Ragland “may have rooms set aside for her,” but the grandmother won’t be making a “permanent move.”
As for the “secrecy” surrounding the royal baby: Meghan has confirmed that she won’t pose for photos on the hospital steps after giving birth. Kate, Duchess of Cambridge for each of her three children, but a source told Entertainment Weekly that Meghan doesn’t want “the pressure” of posing “so soon after childbirth.” That being said, the palace will announce when Meghan goes into labor. And the couple has confirmed they will share photos taken at Windsor Castle with their new baby within a few days after the birth.
For now, Entertainment Weekly reports that Meghan is “absolutely radiant,” “taking each day at a time,” and “looking forward to becoming a mother.” We’re glad her mother can be there as a source of support during this time — and we absolutely cannot wait to see the upcoming photos of Baby Sussex. Any day now!
