Thankfully, the latest Instagram post from Harry and Meghan explains everything.
“May is Mental Health Awareness Month in the US and May 13-19 is Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK,” the caption to a grid of uplifting photos posted on May 1 reads. “To pay tribute to all of the incredible work people across the globe are doing in this space, we are hoping to shine a light on several Instagram accounts that promote mental well-being, mental fitness, body positivity, self-care, and the importance of human connection – to not just hear each other, but to listen.”
If you take a look at some of the accounts that Harry and Meghan are now following in lieu of the obvious choices the William and Kate, they include Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul Sunday account, the Headspace meditation app, the Talkspace therapy app and Heads Together, the organization founded by Harry, William and Kate in order to help those struggling with their mental health.
Prince Harry has been extremely candid about his own mental health struggles in the past and has been dedicated to bringing conversations around mental health to the forefront in any way possible, like recently announcing he’s teaming up with Winfrey for a new documentary series on mental health. It makes total sense that Harry and Meghan would follow through on their dedication to this issue but refocusing their social media presence for one whole month to help raise awareness.
So, put those feud rumors out of your mind. We’re sure that come June 1, William and Kate will be back on Harry and Meghan’s Instagram follow list.
