I don’t care what you think about the Kardashians, but the one thing I won’t stand for is haters shaming them for their parenting choices. Mom-shaming, in general, is such a gross act and it serves literally nobody to try and look cool by making other moms feel weak or inadequate for the decisions they make for their own child. That’s why I’m totally here for Khloé Kardashian slamming a nanny-shaming critic on Instagram this week. Kardashian’s perfect response nails why this behavior needs to stop and why using the Kardashian’s wealth to fuel ridiculous claims that they’re unfit mothers is simply unfair.
Per Cosmopolitan, the drama went down on an unidentified Kardashian Instagram fan account. The account posted a photo of Kardashian, daughter True Thompson and a woman who appeared to be True’s nanny out and about in Kardashian’s hometown of Calabasas. Amidst the positive comments, one commenter hopped in and snarked, “Khloé acts like she can’t go anywhere without her nanny. Nanny is in every pic and place she goes. She can mother on her own, we all do it! What a joke. She literally can’t go to the market, a party, or lunch without her nanny. WTF.”
Kardashian apparently got wind of this because not long after, she was in the comments and clapping back with all the ferocity she possessed.
“I can go anywhere and everywhere with whom I choose to,” Kardashian responded. “I choose to treat everybody like family that is in my house. I choose to invite whoever wants to come to fun outings. We all love and enjoy the farmers [sic] market and it’s so fun to go places and create memories together. I hope you have a happy and blessed day. I also hope that you are very kind to the ones that are kind to you. The ones that are not, probably need your kindness even more.”
The Shade Room later posted a screenshot from Kardashian’s Instagram of a note simply reading, “I wish I could invoice people for wasting my energy,” and sis, same.

Kardashian is certainly not the first of her sisters to be faced with critics of any aspect of her lifestyle, including parenting. Critics regularly come for Kim Kardashian West and Kourtney Kardashian’s necks and for the dumbest reasons, too. Recent run-ins with mom-shamers include people calling out Kim for allowing North West to wear lipstick even though she’s about to turn six and wearing lipstick is hella innocuous while Kourtney has been mom-shamed for wearing a bikini and feeling comfortable with herself on Instagram. I mean, what???
To be clear, there is nothing wrong if you’re a parent who needs an extra pair of hands to help with childcare, and having a nanny is not some unusual privilege unique to the Kardashians. It takes a village to raise a child and plenty of people make that personal decision for their families. Also, as a working mom with several business to her name, obviously Khloé would need child care taken care of. And, honestly, everyone in Hollywood has a nanny, we don’t see trolls shading Amal Clooney or Angelina Jolie for their “privilege.” To their credit, the Kardashian moms brush the hate off their shoulders.
