Before we know it, one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelorettes will be a single lady no longer. Over the weekend, Jennifer Lawrence and fiancé Cooke Maroney celebrated their engagement at a party in New York City. And, according to E! News, the pair kept it totally relaxed — but still romantic — by enjoying the pre-marital milestone with an intimate group of family and friends.
While we weren’t invited (booooo!), we fortunately live in the era of social media. This means the likelihood of such events popping up with a hashtag on someone’s Instagram feed is likely. In the case of Lawrence’s engagement fete, fans got a quick glimpse courtesy of styling duo Jill Lincoln and Jordan Johnson. “Here she comes,” the pair wrote. “We couldn’t be happier and more excited for #jenniferlawrence to become a #MRS.. this weekend we toasted Jen and her groom to be.. too good of a time was had by all.”
Per one source, that good time took place at an apartment building and had a decidedly easygoing vibe. It was “as if they were going to a party at someone’s apartment,” the source told E! News. “They didn’t arrive with anyone else,” the source added, noting Lawrence and Maroney looked “very dressed up” and “happy.”

Lawrence’s longtime makeup artist, Fulvia Farolfi, was apparently also in attendance. “YES!!! What a joy to be part of this moment!!” she wrote, sharing the same snapshot of the Oscar-winning actor wearing a flowy blush gown by L. Wells Bridal. Lawrence paired the dress — dubbed the Juliana — with matching blush Casadei shoes, a Roger Viver bracelet clutch and Leighton Jewels earrings. As for Maroney, he looked dapper in a navy blue suit with white button-down and gray tie.
In other words, the couple’s engagement party looked like a low-key dream. And that seems fitting for them, considering how easy their love has unfolded. “When they were introduced last spring, the timing was perfect because they were both single, and just enjoying an evening out with friends. Things couldn’t have worked out any better because they have so much in common and truly hit it off,” a source told Entertainment Tonight in February, adding, “Jennifer and Cooke’s romance is a bit like a fairy tale.”
Looks like these two are headed for happily ever after — sooner rather than later, considering they can now cross engagement party off their list.
