Who knew a garden party could be this cute?! On Sunday, Kate Middleton shared photos of her new “Back to Nature” garden, part of the RHS Chelsea Flower show. Her intention with the garden was to create a “natural, creative place” for children to play: and judging from Princess Charlotte’s shrieks of delight, she’s succeeded in her mission. The video posted by People features Kate and Prince William‘s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, playing and splashing through the garden, looking happy, carefree, and completely adorable. Don’t you feel better already? Obviously, William pushing 1-year-old Louis on that rope swing will be burned into our minds all day, but there’s another important message to take in here. The Kensington Palace’s Instagram documenting the day’s adventure discusses Kate’s mission for the garden further. In the posted video, Kate notes that the first few years of a child’s life are crucial for their development, and encourages families to spend time with their children in nature whenever possible. “I really feel that nature and being interactive outdoors has huge benefits on our physical and mental wellbeing, particularly for young kiddies,” the Duchess of Cambridge shares. “I really hope that this woodland that we have created, in a huge collaboration here really inspires families, kids and communities to get outside, enjoy nature and the outdoors and spend quality time together.”
With a garden like that, we can hardly imagine Kate’s children protesting more time in nature — not to mention that George, Charlotte, and Louis are all naturals on that swing. Now that Louis is up and walking, we can’t wait to see more adventures from the Cambridge royal children. From their picture-perfect outfits to their fairy-tale garden, we’re always hoping for the next glimpse into their storybook childhood.
