Celebrities Are Celebrating Pride Month 2019 in the Best Ways Possible

June marks Pride Month, a 30-day celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and everything it stands for. And if anyone forgot, these celebrity Pride Month 2019 photos are here to remind us of that. From Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal tribute to Taylor Swift’s political letter, celebrities across Hollywood (and the world) are taking a stand for the LGBTQ+ community and equality. But pride is more than parades and rainbows.

It’s a time to celebrate and remind us of the LGBTQ+ community’s rich history and the accomplishments its made over the years. June, 2019 actually marks the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, which inspired the creation of Pride Month. We’re nowhere near systemic equality, but the LGBTQ+ community has come a long way, and celebrities, from Katy Perry to Mariah Carey, recognize that. There’s no one way to celebrate pride. Whether you’re decked out head to toe in rainbows or simply an ally for your LGBTQ+ loved ones, pride is about the LGBTQ+ community and how love is love, no matter your gender or sexual orientation.

In honor of Pride Month 2019, we’ve collected the most proud celebrity photos celebrating the LGBTQ+ community this year. We see you, Hollywood, and wave those rainbows proud.

Taylor Swift

To kick off Pride Month, Swift wrote a letter to Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander, asking him to support LGBTQ+ rights by voting to support the Equality Act. “I’ve decided to kick off Pride Month by writing a letter to one of my senators to explain how strongly I feel that the Equality Act should be passed,” Swift wrote. “I urge you to write to your senators, too. I’ll be looking for your letters by searching the hashtag #lettertomysenator.”
