Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger celebrated their wedding day over the weekend, and the romantic event looked dreamy. But upon sharing a picture of him and his new wife on his Instagram, Chris Pratt was criticized for his Katherine Schwarzenegger wedding Instagram for referring to the event as the “best day of our lives.”
Famous friends of the couple, from Jason Momoa to Gwyneth Paltrow, shared their well wishes to the newlyweds. But, unsurprisingly, the actor also faced a slew of critical comments from fans for how he phrased his wedding. Many critics took issue with the fact that Pratt referred to his wedding as, “the best day” given that he was previously married to actress Anna Faris and has a 6-year-old son, Jack.
“I love Chris Pratt,” a fan commented on the post. “But this upsets me a little … to say that this is the best day of your life when you’ve been married before and had children. What about those days? It just kinda implies that those things weren’t just as important, even if times have changed.” Other fans took a more benevolent tone, writing, “It is the best day of his life until the next time he gets married.”

Pratt wasn’t the only one to face the criticism. Schwarzenegger, the daughter of activist Maria Shriver and actor-turned-governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, was met with also slew of comments, such as: “I would think the best day of his life would be the day his son was born, but carry on.”
Faris and Pratt separated in August 2017 and finalized their divorce this past October. While a number of comments also took issue with the fact that the actor had seemingly moved on so quickly, the pair have, by all accounts, maintained a positive relationship.
Pratt did have a number of fans who came to the actor’s defense. In response to who assumed the birth of his son would be the best day of Pratt’s life, several supporters pointed out that Faris and Pratt’s son was born premature and, as a result, suffered a number of health complications. “Speaking as a preemie parent,” one fan wrote, “their birthday was far from the best day of my life so I don’t see anything wrong with him not claiming the birth day of his preemie to be.”
Many fans also moved to defend Pratt and his new wife, arguing that — for the newlywed couple — the marriage was the best day of their lives together. Regardless, Pratt has a slew of devoted fans who love his films and TV work and thus, gladly, came to the actor’s defense.
