Cue up “Pomp and Circumstance,” because the time of year has come for teenagers to cross the stage and receive their diplomas — including those of one Hollywood power couple who have become parents to two now-adult kids. Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’s daughter Lola graduated high school on Wednesday, and the couple has the proud parent pics to prove it.
Ripa and Consuelos have gone through this once before with son Michael, 22 and they’ll go through it again in a few years with son Joaquin, 16. But that doesn’t make this moment any less exciting for the family. Ripa shared the happy milestone on social media, taking to Instagram to upload a pic of her 17-year-old daughter in her cap and gown. “Happening now!!!!!” Ripa captioned the photo, in which Consuelos stands beside his daughter in a black suit, grinning from ear-to-ear. The snapshot caps what has undoubtedly been an emotional rollercoaster of a week for Lola’s famous mom and dad. The night before graduation day, Ripa shared a photo of Lola and her friends gathered in the Consuelos family kitchen. And it wasn’t just any girls’ night, as Ripa made clear by captioning the pic, “Pre grad pizza.”
Just last week, Lola experienced another milestone teenage moment when her parents sent her off to her senior prom. Ripa commemorated the occasion by sharing a photo of herself alongside Lola, who looked drop-dead gorgeous in an emerald green gown. “It only took 20 hours, but we finally got two approved prom photos,” Ripa playfully captioned the post, which also featured a photo of Lola with her date.
For those who’ve been fans of Ripa and Consuelos since their days as soap stars, it’s probably hard to believe that, in just a few short years, all three of the couple’s kids will be out of the house. But, hey, at least the high-profile parents will know where to go when they visit their new graduate. According to E! News, Lola will be headed to New York University in the fall — big brother Michael attended the same school before launching his acting career (he stars alongside his dad in The CW’s Riverdale), However, while Michael participated in the university’s athletics program, Lola is reportedly enrolled in NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts’ Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.
It’s safe to say there are big things in store for Ripa and Consuelos’s middle child. Congrats, Lola!
