Khloé Kardashian just congratulated ex Lamar Odom on the success of his new memoir, Darkness to Light, and her sweet message makes it clear the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is very proud of her former husband. When Odom’s tell-all first hit shelves in late-May, fans were unsure how the Kardashian-Jenner family would react to being included in the book — particularly Kardashian, whose marriage is chronicled in intimate and, at times, shocking detail. However, Odom’s ex-wife doesn’t seem to be sweating it.
Odom took to Instagram on Friday to mark a major milestone for the book: landing on the New York Times bestsellers list. “Wow don’t know where to begin. We did this! We made @nytimes best sellers list for my first book, Darkness To Light! What felt like a lifetime of writing and working on this project finally came to Light and I am grateful to YOU ALL! Your continued support and love is appreciated! It took a lot of courage for me to get so raw and candid with you all but I wanted you guys to get MY true story!” Odom shared.
He then dove into giving gratitude to specific people who’ve helped him along the way, including — you guessed it — Kardashian. As highlighted on Comments By Celebs’ Instagram on Saturday, Kardashian responded with a super-encouraging message. “Look at God!!! Congratulations Lammy! Keep shining,” she wrote.

They’ve come so far, right? The pair split in 2013 four years into their marriage, after reports of infidelity and drug abuse on Odom’s part surfaced. But Kardashian temporarily withdrew her divorce petition in 2015 so that she could care for her ex after he suffered a near-fatal drug overdose. Once he had recovered enough to once again resume making his own medical decisions, Kardashian filed for divorce again and it was finalized in 2016. They’ve since remained on what appear to be civil terms.
Since he began promoting the memoir, Odom has repeatedly alluded to his appreciation for Kardashian’s support. And, when you consider the stories he shares in his memoir (he admits at one point that he threatened to kill her), the fact that Kardashian has remained in his corner is pretty remarkable. Odom apparently understands how rare that loyalty is, though. Speaking with Jenny McCarthy on her Sirius XM radio show shortly after the memoir’s release, Odom summed up his ex-wife by saying, “She’s extremely courageous and tough and strong.”
