It’s all good in the Flip or Flop hood. In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Christina Anstead revealed Tarek El Moussa’s reaction to her pregnancy — and, spoiler alert, the former couple’s conversation could definitely be described as amicable. In fact, out of respect for her ex, El Moussa was one of the first people Christina clued in about expecting a baby with her new husband, Ant Anstead.
ET’s Lauren Zima caught up with Christina during her baby shower in Newport Beach, California on Sunday, which was held at Balboa Bay Resort. While chatting, Christina shared that she wanted to be upfront with El Moussa as a courtesy. “I told him right before I told the kids. I waited after the first trimester to tell them to make sure everything was OK,” she said. So, how did El Moussa take the news? According to Christina, her ex-husband’s reaction to the pregnancy news was “good.”
Since filing for divorce in 2017, the former couple has managed to work through any initial tension to reach a place of mutual civility. “[We’ve] just been doing it for a few years now, and it’s sort of normal, I guess,” Christina added of their relationship post-breakup.

Part of that new dynamic, of course, is sharing custody of their two kids: daughter Taylor and son Brayden. Coupled with Ant’s two children from a previous marriage, daughter Amelie and son Archie, that makes this a blended family — that’s about to grow by one more when Christina gives birth in September.
And with a big blended family comes a lot of considerations, but Christina feels confident their crew will adapt seamlessly to the new addition. “We have not chosen [a name] yet. We have a few up in the air. Between the four kids and us, this is still a process. We are going to wait until right before and make a decision,” the expectant mama admitted. “The kids are such different ages, but they get along so well. It’s been super fun traveling and spending time together and we are looking forward to welcoming this new baby.”
Another consideration weighing on Christina’s mind? Baby Anstead’s nursery! “I’ve been ordering things and there’s pieces that are arriving, but it is not put together. It is still currently in the guest room, so we have about 10 weeks to get it all organized,” she confessed. But make no mistake, she’ll be putting her signature design aesthetic to work in the space. “My house is a chic boho vibe, so we’re going with a lot of layered rugs and dream catchers, like what you see around here. I’ll probably be utilizing things that Cassie made, just a lot of greenery and plants and softened it up with some cute stuffed animals.”
Suffice it to say, baby Anstead will come into this world surrounded by good vibes.
