The family drama continues. Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas, reacted to Archie’s christening and not being invited to baby Archie’s christening. The drama surrounding the Duchess of Sussex’s family has been ongoing since Markle became a part of the royal family. Now, Thomas Markle is speaking out in a surprising way about being snubbed from Archie’s christening.
Thomas Markle spoke to the Daily Mail on Sunday, sharing his disappointment in not attending his daughter and Prince Harry’s son’s christening at Windsor Castle, where Prince Harry and Markle also held their wedding. (Thomas Markle also did not attend his daughter’s wedding following a photo scandal orchestrated by the Duchess of Sussex’s half-sister, Samantha Markle.)

“I have been asked if I would have liked to have gone to Britain to see my new grandson being christened,” Thomas Markle told the Daily Mail. “I was an altar boy at age 12, a confirmed member of the Queen’s church at age 14, and Archie is my new grandson, of course I would have enjoyed being there for the blessing, wishing Archie and his parents’ health and happiness.” Per the Daily Mail, thomas Markle has not communicated with his daughter since her wedding, and has been outspoken about her, Prince Harry and the royal family.
The Duchess of Sussex’s mother, Doria Ragland, was present for the private ceremony and appeared in the official portrait along with other royal family members. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son,” the royal couple shared in a statement on their official Instagram. “Their royal highnesses feel fortunate to have enjoyed this day with family and the godparents of Archie.” In the last few months, Meghan Markle has shifted her focus away from her estranged family’s drama to her own growing family. The royal couple and baby Archie will be off on a royal tour and heading to Africa in the fall, a much needed excursion for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to continue to leave their mark on the Monarchy.
