Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Want a Private Life for Archie Because of This Emotional Reason

We haven’t seen a lot of Archie Harrison since his birth, and now we know why. Prince Harry wants a private life for Archie because of Princess Diana‘s death and what happened to his late mother because of the insane media attention around her. According to Express, Harry’s sentiments echo comments made by Ingrid Seward, a royal expert and Magesty magazine editor, in the 2013 Netflix documentary, The Royals. “They hated their mother’s celebrity live and they grew to really hate the photographers that were always surrounding her,” Seward said.

As many remember, Princess Diana died in a car crash on August 31, 1997 in the Parisian Pont de l’Alma tunnel when her driver Henri Paul tried to flee paparazzi who were chasing them. Both Diana and Paul lost their lives. Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, were 12 and 15, respectively, at the time of their mother’s death. Given what happened, it’s no surprise that Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, want a private life for their 2-month-old son, Archie, who has not been given a royal title to keep his life as normal as possible.

“It’s quite to their credit they are able to be vaguely polite to the press now because they still loathe them.” Seward continued. “They still blame the press for their mother’s death, which they would do.”

Some may be wondering: What about Prince William? Harry’s older brother shares three kids with Kate Middleton: Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 1. Well, according to a source for Us Weekly, William does like to keep his family private — to an extent. “William thinks his brother is going overboard keeping Archie out of the spotlight,” the source said.

It seems like both William and Harry favor a private life for their kids (understandable), with William being more willing to showcase his family for the public. However these princes parent their kids is their choice, and we should respect that.
