Now, this is a Super Bowl halftime show we can’t wait to see. Is Jennifer Lopez performing the Super Bowl 2020 halftime show in Miami? The singer responded to rumors that she’s the Super Bowl 2020 halftime performer while backstage at her New York concert this week.
The 2020 Super Bowl — which is set to take place on February 2, 2010 in Miami, Florida — would be a massive concert for the singer, who follow in the footsteps of acts like Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Maroon 5. Even better, J-Lo and her fiance Alex Rodriguez happen to have an estate in Miami, making the show that much more special. When asked about the rumors that she’s the 2020 Super Bowl performer, the “Jenny from the Block” singer told Entertainment Tonight, “Yeah, we’ve thought about the Super Bowl and it’s in Miami, it’s a big deal but we’ll see.” Lopez, who just celebrated her milestone 50th birthday, is currently on her “It’s My Party” Tour. She told ET about how it’s the Super Bowl’s decision — not hers —whether or not to have her perform at the halftime show. “They make their own decisions over there,” she told the outlet backstage at her New York concert.

While the “On the Floor” singer has yet to actually confirm whether she’ll be performing, we can only image how iconic it would be. If Lopez were to perform, she’d be in good company with a roster of incredible past halftime show performers. Prince, Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Maroon 5 and Katy Perry have all taken the stage to fanfare. Given Lopez’s production quality and energy (not to mention talent), she should be a no-brainer for the creatives behind the halftime show.
It’s been a very exciting year for Lopez. The singer became engaged to fiancé and former Yankees player Alex Rodriguez in March. Since then, Lopez has been on the road for her “It’s My Party” Tour throughout the U.S. and has been taking her wedding plans slow, with the couple planning their nuptials following the singer’s tour. It looks like Lopez will continue to have a fabulous 2019, and we can only hope that announcing her performance at the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show is to come.
