HBD, A-Rod! Jennifer Lopez surprised Alex Rodriguez with a birthday cake at a Yankees game broadcast, and the video was so cute. Rodriguez — who turned 44 on Saturday, July 27 (three days after his fiancé’s 50th birthday) — was a commentator of the New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox game on Sunday, July 28, Mid-broadcast, Rodriguez, minding his own business at the time, was shocked when J-Lo and his daughters, Natasha, 14, and Ella, 11, popped out from behind the curtain to surprise him with a birthday cake.
A video posted on ESPN’s Twitter showed Rodriguez looking genuinely shocked as he spotted his daughters from around the corner. Unbeknownst to him at the time, his fiancé, dressed casually in a white shirt and glasses, was sneaking up right behind him. “Thank you, baby. The whole summer been one large cake,” Rodriguez said on the broadcast as his daughters handed him a white sheet cake. “J-Lo snuck on set to surprise A-Rod with a birthday cake,” ESPN captioned a video of the sweet moment.
Rodriguez later took to Instagram himself to share a clip of when his fiancé and daughters surprised him on his birthday. “THE PARTY CONTINUES IN THE BOOTH!!!” he wrote alongside an Instagram story.

Rodriguez — who shares his daughters with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis — was treated to yet another birthday surprise on Friday (the day before his birthday) when Lopez invited him on stage at her “It’s My Party” Tour concert in Miami to sing happy birthday to him, alongside thousands of fans. The video — which included many kisses and PDA moments between the couple — featured a multi-tier, Yankees-themed birthday cake with Rodriguez’s MLB number on it: 13.
Rodriguez’s birthday celebrations come a few days after Lopez’s 50th birthday festivities, which included a performance from her twins, Emme and Max, 11, at her party and a $140,000 Porsche from her soon-to-be husband.
