For anyone with a cause close to their hearts, this opportunity is a royal treat. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Instagram will follow 15 “forces for change” in the coming month, and the royal couple is looking for suggestions on who that should be. As we all know, the Sussex royals are a charitable pair, and they’ve been using their Instagram largely as a platform to support various causes. Now, it looks like they’re taking things a step farther and trying to create a personal connection through social media.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to make the official announcement for their search. The caption said this: “For the month of August we look to you for help. We want to know who YOUR Force for Change is […] Over the next few days please add your suggestions into the comments section: someone you look up to, the organization doing amazing work that we should all be following, an account that inspires you to be and do better (or that simply makes you feel good), or the handle that brims with optimism for a brighter tomorrow. We will choose 15 accounts and follow them next Monday, as we spend the month of August acknowledging the Forces for Change in all of our lives.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have only just posted, and people are already making worthy suggestions. A slew of comments on the initial Instagram announcement have put forth choices including The Giving Keys, an organization that helps employ people transitioning out of homelessness, Lara Bundock, who founded the Snowdrop Project which serves to empower survivors of human trafficking, and Redress, an environmental NGO working to cut waste out of the fashion industry.
Forces for Change is also the name of the September issue of British Vogue which Meghan recently guest edited. The issue highlighted women making an impact across the globe and also featured grassroots organizations and trailblazers. It looks like Meghan was fired up by the work she did there, and is inspiring Harry to keep that initiative flowing. With the explosion of comments their post has sparked, we’re sure they’re in for a busy month!
