Leslie Mann’s Daughter Iris Had the Funniest Response to Mom’s Makeup Suggestion

It’s not every day that your mom calls you out on Instagram — and when your mom is Leslie Mann, people tend to take notice. Mann’s daughter Iris reacted to her mom’s critical Instagram comment with a hilarious quip of her own, proving that this mother-daughter duo is as funny offscreen as they are on. And honestly? We wouldn’t mind having Leslie Mann on hand for make-up tips. Feel free to comment any time, Leslie!

The whole thing started when the 16-year-old daughter of Mann and director Judd Apatow posted an Instagram photo of herself alongside her elder sister, Maude. The photo, hyping up the girls’ upcoming appearance on The Colbert Show, is captioned: “Go watch mud on @colbertlateshow!” But things took a turn when Mann herself posted a little makeup advice to her daughter in the comments. “Under eye concealer too light.”

In spite of mom’s host of heart-eye emojis, Iris wasn’t going to settle for just throwing a “thanks mom” back. Instead, she wrote back: “A text would have been nice.” Iris got plenty of support from fans online, including Courtney Cox’s daughter, Coco Arquette who commented: “U look WELL RESTED.” Others were simply enjoying the family dynamic on display, and still more found it relatable to their own situation. “Ha my daughters get so mad at me when I do that but we are ‘just trying to help’!!” one comment read.

This isn’t the first time a celeb offspring has given their parent some grief over social media presence. Earlier this year, Gwyneth Paltrow drew heat from her daughter Apple for posting a photo of her on IG without Apple’s consent. “Mom we have discussed this. You may not post anything without my consent,” Apple wrote. In that case, we think a text might have worked just as well too — but for our sake, we hope these mother-daughter duos keep dragging each other right where we can see it.
