Meghan Markle & Prince Harry are Supporting World Elephant Day & We Approve

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are sharing photos from their Botswana trip on Instagram — and it is utterly darling. If you’ll recall, the pair visited the country just before their engagement, and have often called the trip a “crucial” step towards their eventual marriage, but no photos have ever been released.

Now, in honor of World Elephant Day, the pair have decided to show their Instagram followers the trip. A lengthy caption explains that the group are committed to working with a company called Elephants Without Borders who outfit the majestic creatures with satellite navigation collars, to help keep the elephants safe but to also track their behavior and migratory patterns.

Several of the photos show beautiful elephants living their best life. One does show a pair of hands, presumably Prince Harry’s, grasping an elephant while another photo shows Harry walking up to one of them.

This continues a string of tributes for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, including an emotional tribute to Harry’s mother, Princess Diana. Though it’s said that Prince Harry is on a “different planet” since marrying Meghan — and we’re loving it — these photos certainly show where it all started. Let’s hope there are more to come!
