We’re totally onboard with what this former Amy March is saying about Greta Gerwig’s new movie. Kirsten Dunst reacted to the latest Little Women reboot — and it turns out she’s just as excited as the rest of us. Gerwig’s adaptation of the beloved Louisa May Alcott novel is due out this December, and it sounds like Dunst will be right there with the rest of us on opening weekend.
In an interview with Variety, Dunst was over the moon about the new film, which just released its full length trailer. “It’s so nice; each generation I feel like it’s such a classic,” Dunst shared with the outlet. “It’s nice to see someone else’s take on it.” Dunst also talked about the possibility of an Interview With a Vampire reboot saying, “I was a child stuck, so I don’t know how that would work. It would be kind of sad, me in a curly wig. No one wants to see that.”
Dunst shot to fame in the mid-90s for her roles in both films. The actress played a young Amy March in the 1994 adaptation of Little Women, which co-starred Winona Ryder, Claire Danes and Susan Sarandon. The film was directed by Gillian Armstrong and earned three Oscar nominations.

In the latest adaptation, Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan will take on the role of Jo March with Emma Watson, Eliza Scanlen and Florence Pugh playing the roles of her sisters Meg, Beth and Amy. Gerwig previously worked with Ronan on Lady Bird, which became an awards season favorite. We’ll see in the coming months if Gerwig’s sophomore feature will have the same (or better!) luck.
Little Women comes out Christmas Day.
