It seems like the Kardashian sisters are victims of criticism no matter what they do — so when we saw Kim Kardashian West’s daughter, North, wearing makeup, we weren’t surprised to see that the good people of the Internet weren’t having it. And as it turns out, someone very close to home had a problem with it as well. Specifically, we’re speaking of her dad, Kanye West.
The famously outspoken rapper won’t let his little girl near the lipstick, according to recent comments from Kardashian West. “She loves makeup, but her dad won’t let her wear it,” Kardashian West told E! “He changed all the rules. I’d let her wear … a little red [lipstick] for Christmas, I’d let her wear a red lip, or I’d let her do one pop of something. I’d let her if she’s wearing a black dress, a black lip. Kylie would give her all of these lip kits, so I kind of got in trouble for that. So, it’s now no more makeup.”
Ironically enough, these comments came while Kardashian was at a launch event for — you guessed it — her own beauty brand’s collaboration with model Winnie Harlow. So we guess North won’t be sampling any products from her mom’s new line? It just goes to show: You can have a beauty mogul for a mom, and still have to follow your dad’s rules where wearing makeup is concerned. Children of stars: They’re just like us!

Despite her father’s new rule, North — along with her siblings Saint, Chicago and Psalm — only wants to be around her famous parents these days, and Kardashian West is all for it. “I do [have help] and I love everyone that has been so helpful, but my husband is on this no-help kick so I’m … like, ‘OK, then you try the morning,’ and I’ll see my daughter with hair out to here. I think he gets it a little bit,” Kardashian said during a recent appearance on The View. “I do [have help] but they just want mom and dad.” Again, famous kids — they’re just like non-famous kids! At least when it comes to wanting to spend time with their parents.
